Back in late July, Empire Avenue introduced Influence Scores. The Empire Building Network first blogged about here. At the time, we looked at the scores of the top 25 influencers by share price. With the Erindale update placing reducing the importance of activity and increasing the importance of Influencer Scores, we thought it would be a good time to review the share price leaders again.
Next, scores for the top 45.
The chart below shows the top 45 share price leaders as taken from the Empire Avenue Leaders board on September 5. EBN then collated the Influence Scores from the profile page of each influencer.
Please note the following:
- The chart is sorted by share price (spRank)
- It lists the four Influence Scores as provided by Empire Avenue
- iAverage (Influence Score Average) is the unweighted average of the four scores. Empire Avenue likely weights the four services with their weighted averages being different than these unweighted scores.
- Empire Avenue also has a Blogs Influencer score but does not publish these numbers. This EBN, therefore, shows those with active blogs lower than Empire Avenue would while those without blogs show higher here.
- iAvg / Shareprice shows an Influence Score relative to one’s share price. The higher the number, the better value someone is relative to their Influence Scores.
- Influence Scores are different than the algorithm used to generate dividends payable. However, they are expected to be more closely aligned to dividends after the Erindale update.
- Of course, one’s Influence Score is not necessarily reflective of a person’s influence with you. For example, a knitting expert might be highly influential with other knitters, but not that influential in general.

Here’s a link to the spreadsheet in Google Docs.
As in July (e)ALLIE , who is ranked 12th by share price, has the best Influence Scores based on the four numbers provided by Empire Avenue. She is also the best value relative to her share price. (e)ANGLER , who is 35th by share price, is the second best value.
These numbers give some indication how people will fare after the update. However, of more immediate concern is the share price adjustment. While we don’t know for sure, expect those with the best scores to do well.
If you are looking to adjust your portfolio prior to the update, consider the above scores. Just remember (says the blogger) that blog scores are not available.
Does this table provide you with useful investing information? What is your investment strategy to take advantage of the Erindale update and share price adjustment?
