Getting Started on EBN Promoted

This page is a work in progress where you will be able to get information on how to vote for content and how to submit tips or blog posts to EBN Promoted.  You must register for both.  Here are some quick things you will want to know for now.

The Goals of EBN Promoted

  • To give us a place to find Empire Avenue content.
  • To help Empire Avenue bloggers and other content producers promote their work and generate traffic to their sites/EAv profiles.
  • To raise the best Empire Avenue content to the top.

 

Submitting (Promoting) Tips/Posts

  • You have to register (one-time) with the site.
  • Click the big green 'Promote Tip/Post' button to register.
  • The system will send you a password. (Sorry this is the way WordPress does it.)
  • Then log-in to the site and submit your content.
  • You can either submit a short tip or a link with excerpt to a longer blog post.
  • Pick the best category for submission in the submission box.
  • Your submission must be at least 140 characters long to give people enough to go on.
  • If you are only including an excerpt from a post on your site, end your excerpt with this -- Click the 'Visit Site' link below to continue reading.
  • If you are providing a standalone tip, use your Empire Avenue profile URL.
  • Tickers in the form (e)TICKER with all caps on TICKER should create autolinks to Empire Avenue (still double checking this works with your submissions).
  • I am using a service that will automatically include a thumbnail picture of the webpage you link to.  If this page has not been scanned previously, this takes a bit to show up.
  • Content should Empire Avenue related.  There are General and Social Media categories, but this content should be of particular interest to Empire Avenue members. There are lots of sites to promote other content.
  • Please only provide valuable content. Spam, buy me messages and other inappropriate content will be removed. We are trying to create a valuable resource for everyone and the only way to accomplish that is through quality.

Promoting Content by Voting

  • You have to register (one-time) with the site. This is the only way to manage unfair voting.
  • Click the big green 'Promote Tip/Post' button to register.
  • The system will send you a password. (Sorry this is the way WordPress does it.)
  • Then log-in and vote on content.
  • Voting might take a week or so to get working perfectly, but it will be watched closely.
  • Please don't try to game the system. We will all get higher visibility if people feel that EBN Promoted is a good place to come for quality content.  I will promote EBN Promoted to promote you.
