Late in the trading day Monday, Empire Avenue introduced new achievements with badges for for Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and Facebook Pages.  One can assume YouTube achievements are coming, if not yet here by the time you read this.   Assuming you have now had a good look at your new shiny, you might be wondering what effect this will have on Empire Avenue activity.  Expect to see people working the system, but something more significant is developing as well.

People buy my 90-eave shares faster than I can earn dividends for upgrades even when I spend real cash.  When my share price was about 65e, I wrote an article entitled, You Will Still Love Me at 80 where I proposed that folks should have no problem buying my shares for 70e.  Some people thought that article was pretty arrogant.  Suggesting someone might pay over market rates for shares generated some strong responses. And yet, what are market rates?  My stock costs 25e more a share than it did back in July.  It’s been suggested that share sales are a powerful measure of your influence, but has my influence increased by 38% since then?

Social Media Top 10: Improving Your Flickr Stats

William Pitcher of the Empire Building Network discusses ten tips to improve your views, comments and favourites on the photo sharing site – Flickr.

Each tip is discussed in more detail in the video, but here is the list:

  1. Take good photos!!
  2. Use comedic photographs to generate response.
  3. Fine tune your photos with editing tools.
  4. Quality is important, but more photos creates more score.
  5. Comment and favourite other people’s photos.
  6. Use Flickr groups to promote your photos.
  7. When posting, make your last photo of a group your best photo.
  8. Tell your story in words as well as in pictures.
  9. Use tags and geotags.
  10. Use good picture names.

News: Impact of Youtube & Facebook Pages on Empire Avenue

Empire Avenue listed the scores of YouTube and Facebook Pages today on the site.  The average of these new scores is much lower than some of the other Influence Scores.  For example, the 100th highest Empire Avenue Influence Score for people is 42 while the 100th highest score for Facebook Pages is one.
