Meet Regina Coleman (aka Gina Montana). I was inspired to write this post because I am no longer going to be using the “Casual On The Avenue” moniker as part of my personal brand on Empire Avenue. There’s many reasons for this, but the most compelling would be that it’s hardly appropriate to label my activity on the site as such. I’m going through what folks in the Consumer Packaged Goods call a “Brand Restage”. This means adjusting the look, feel, design, and potentially even the name of your brand to reflect a change in consumer preference or a change in strategy.

As we just recently saw yesterday in our profiles and Bill’s latest post, the good people at Empire Avenue have once again revealed a bit more insight into the market makers by showing our influence scores below our connections (Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, etc). This post isn’t another analysis of what those scores mean, but it did get me thinking about another topic that actually began as a discussion on Twitter between myself and (e)JOSH, having more to do with retweets and whether people were doing them properly and getting proper credit on Empire Avenue.

In 1993-94, I live in Ireland. Technology has a changed a bit since then. My monthly phone bill was $400; I had to go downtown to read a Canadian paper; and Macleans magazine delivery used to take a month. At some point, I prepared a photo essay for my parents. I had a computer to print the copy, but I had to glue photos to the pages. Sixteen years later and I still have a duplicate of it. For years, I have said I need to scan this project and post it online, but it never happened.
