Look Who’s Influencing Now: The Community Crusader

Meet Allie Wojtaszek. Allie is wife and mother, as well as a volunteer for the Canadian Red Cross and Edmonton Food Bank. Allie tells me that she is “a fan of continuous learning” and is rumored to be an “agent of chaos.” When she’s not working, Allie is cheering for the Calgary Flames and participating in online social networking, including blogging at Summer’s Daydreams.

Next, Allie’s search to discover the people behind the profiles.

The Rundown

I heard about Empire Avenue from:
Dups

I have been using Empire Ave for:
3.5 months

My hopes for Empire Avenue are:
To develop a workable community network with real people on a global
scale.

I knew I was hooked on Empire Ave when:
I couldn’t go to bed at night until the market closed. And then I
couldn’t go to bed until the market re-opened…

Empire Ave is more important than: sleep
But less important than: my lovely family

The things I look for when buying a stock are: I look to see that the user has taken the time to write a bio, upload a picture and connect their social networking sites – usually I like to see Twitter, Facebook, Flickr and a blog. Also, if you are
protecting your tweets, I am unlikely to invest in you.

My Twitter and Facebook numbers are: Right now on Twitter I have 1273 followers and on Facebook I am connected to 780 friends.

The thing that drives me nuts about Empire Ave is:
How pricey the upgrades get

The thing I love most about Empire Ave is:
Connecting with people

The EAer I would most like to meet is:
Carolina Millan. Especially if it is in Chile!

Empire Avenue has changed my life by:
It has solidified my awareness of the power of an individual’s influence in a world that is changing to a place where one ordinary person can exert an amount of influence that before was not possible.

I would also like you to know:
I provide great dividends if you want to give me a try – I am worth
the money!

You can connect with Allie by following her on Twitter - @AllieW.  Of course, you can also find her on Empire Avenue; her ticker is ALLIE.

We’ll be featuring more people soon. Could it be you?

I love the way you blog … but … ummm … don’t be playing with my FSX / XP Pro autoexec.bat, ok?

The link to Allie’s Twitter is completely blown. It should be just plain old http://twitter.com/AllieW unless you’ve got your links wired to siphon off marketing information. ;-)

    cheers

These are awesome. I'd steal the idea for our site… but then I'd be stealing the idea. We had planned on doing some influencer spotlights, though… just need to figure out how to make them different.

  • JoanneYCostello

I'm glad you like them, Tom. You guys can just pay me for my features. ; ) I'm sure there lots of cool ways to do these types of features.

  • William Pitcher

Sorry about that. It's fixed now. Joanne entered the Twitter URL without the http:// This caused WordPress to think that Twitter.com was a COMmand file. Might have looked scarey, but nothing there. Just so you know, the reason your comment did not appear sooner was that comments with links require approval. I am glad you enjoy the blog otherwise. Cheers, Bill.
