Next, turning around a downturn with one buy.
Yesterday, ISIDOR had a run down on her stock. When I saw it, it was down over 7e. I don’t know if she told people to sell her or not. At one point, she had “vendiendose” in her status line. There was some debate if she simply meant that one sells him or herself on Empire Avenue, or if she was suggesting to sell her stock. I believe her English is only a little better than my non-existent Spanish. So, I never did find out. However, when I asked her what was up, she asked for help. It certainly appeared as if she was trying to stop the downturn. So, I jumped in.
She had had a very strong run up. She is clearly popular. This fundamental would not have changed. I told her that people were selling her stock because she was in the red. Buyers would sit on the sidelines for the same reason. There is no way to get a 7e drop back up the same day. So, the plan had to be for the next day. I told her I was going to sell some of her stock into the drop. This would allow me to buy more the next day. She agreed.
The next day, when I checked in, she was just turning negative, and it looked like downward pressure was starting again with another sell. So, I jumped in and bought her big. This positive move led to a day of buying. If you think this is a coincidence, look at her graph. I bought at the bottom indicated in the red circle. The activity completely changed after and continued to go up strongly after I took this screen capture. I certainly got a better deal than those that followed me.
Now whether this was a strategy that was planned, or just an unfortunate run on a stock, which you see from time-to-time, does not matter. The fact is that one strong buy dramatically turned a result. I like to believe the gratitude expressed for this is real and that I have made another friend on Empire Avenue. But the lesson, is that you can make a real difference if you choose your spots wisely. You can contribute to the community, and prosper at the same time. Know when to be a leader and not a follower. Look for strong stocks that just need a turn around. Jump in and make friends and wealth. Just remember in the early part of the market day is best for these kinds of moves.
Incidently, if you speak Spanish and are reading this, I would love if you explained to ISIDOR what I did. And, if the happenings yesterday were just gamesmanship, no worries, I did great out of it all.
